Handbook Explains Complicated System in Common Sense Terms
The Iowa Managed Care Ombudsman Program, Disability Rights Iowa, and ID Action recently published “How to be Your Own Best Advocate: A Guide on How to Navigate Managed Care in Iowa.” The publication introduces readers to the concept of managed care, then covers key topics such as enrollment, member rights and responsibilities, and the appeals process.
Please note that the publication was issued prior to the withdrawal of AmeriHealth Caritas from the IA Health Link Program and the suspension of choice (of MCO’s) which has resulted.
