Host Elected Officials and Make Your Voices Heard!
Iowans with Disabilities in Action (ID Action) is offering grant funds to local advocacy groups which are led by people with disabilities. These groups should have a plan to take action in their community by hosting a town hall meeting with elected officials and encouraging Iowans with disabilities to be advocates on disability-related issues.
Activities of grant recipients must be non-partisan and support individuals with disabilities in developing relationships with their elected officials.
Timeline
The Iowa DD Council has established a grant period to review and award grants until funds are depleted. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Available Grants
Grants are available in varying amounts from $100 to $2,000. You will have an option to select a grant range on the application. Local advocacy groups are encouraged to apply for any size grant they feel will have an impact on their community. Grants must include an action plan explaining how the work will be completed.
Grant funds are provided as a reimbursement for actual expenses. Receipts for all expenses must be submitted along with a final report prior to the disbursement of funds. Grants may be awarded for a portion of the proposed activities.
